Tully Lake
Tully Lake is a shallow, weedy lake located on the borders of Cortland and Onondaga counties near the Village of Tully. Tully Lake is a very popular ice fishing location for panfish and pickerel, as it's generally one of the first lakes in the area to freeze. The main gamefish found in the lake are largemouth bass, chain pickerel, and the occasional walleye. Bluegill, pumpkinseed, redbreast sunfish, and yellow perch are the most abundant panfish species, but black crappie, and rock bass are also commonly caught. Largemouth bass and pickerel can be caught on a variety of artificial baits and live minnows fished along the many weed edges. Ice anglers targeting panfish do well fishing small jigs tipped with spikes around the submerged hump in the middle of the lake. For chain pickerel, use tip-ups baited with minnows fished in 5 to 10 feet of water.
