Spafford Brook

Spafford Brook, a major tributary to the South end of Otisco Lake, begins it’s North flow in the town of Tully. At just over 6 miles in length and a relatively low gradient of descent; this stream looks more like a meandering meadow stream. Although it is considered a finger lakes tributary, Spafford Brook does not fall under the special regulations for the Finger Lakes, but does use the statewide regulations. See the New York State DEC fishing regulations for more specific details.

Onondaga County Parks Carpenter's Brook Fish Hatchery stocks over 1,100 trout annually into Spafford Brook, and with only a few road crossing fishing sites, access is limited. Having suffered from a severe agricultural runoff over a decade ago, Spafford Brook has been slowly returning to a productive trout stream.
